Compliance monitoring is a service that is offered to help insure that
activities being conducted in a particular area are in compliance with permit
specifications, environmental and agency regulations, landowner stipulations,
etc.
With the ever-increasing number of environmental regulations, there has become
an amplified amount of focus by regulatory agencies on development and
exploration activities conducted in sensitive areas. In addition, landowners
have an increased awareness of the importance of their property in ecosystem
health and revenue generation.
In many instances, local, state, and federal agencies, as well as landowners,
require third party monitoring in order to protect their interests and the
resources of the area.
Other times, it is in the best interest of a company to hire consultants to do
compliance monitoring. It alleviates liability and minimizes the likelihood of
permit violations. In addition, the consultants can guide the company with
valuable information and suggestions on how to impart the least amount of
impact to the environment, thus lowering remediation/mitigation costs and other
liabilities that are typically incurred upon completion of a project.
DESCO has a multidisciplinary staff of professionals who have extensive
experience monitoring various areas of environmental concern, including
endangered species habitats, finfish resources, bird rookeries, seismic
operations, and development and exploration activities in sensitive areas.
DESCO will help to assure that companies are in compliance with permit
specifications, agency requirements, and landowner stipulations.
DESCO will prepare daily or weekly field reports on observed activities and
progress, as well as a final report upon completion of the project. These
reports will document actions taken by the company to comply with the
requirements and stipulations placed upon them.
DESCO will coordinate with agency representatives and landowners to resolve any
problems that may arise during operation.
